Albert Casavant

Albert Henry Casavant of Athabasca, Alberta, passed away on March 2, 2022, at the age of 96. Albert was born near Legal, Alberta on January 1, 1926.

Albert was a farmer in the Colinton area for 46 years. In his retirement, he enjoyed reading newspapers, magazines, and local history books. His favourite pastimes included bowling, solving jigsaw puzzles, playing cards and billiards, and watching sports and game shows on television. Albert was also actively involved in the Athabasca Seniors’ and Colinton Seniors’ clubs.

Left to cherish his memory are his children Louise (Jerry), Robert (Shirley), Rita (Myles), and Theresa (Calvin); grandchildren Michelle, Dale (Laura), Andrea (Chuma), Sheldon (Jeff), Rylan (Tiffiny), Tyson (Sue), and Karly (Nick); great-grandchildren Shayla (Dave), McKenzie (Zach), Sydney, Wyatt, Grayson, and Logan; siblings Lucien (Betty), Thérèse, Gerard (Sherry); sister-in-law Bernice; brother-in-law Stan; and numerous family and friends.

Albert is predeceased by his wife of 66 years, Yvonne; his parents Aime and Hélène; siblings Madeline,Diana, Denise (Edmond), Aline (Don), Antoinette (Alois), François; sister-in-law Yvonne; brother-in-law Joe; and grandson Travis.

The funeral service was held at the Athabasca Community Chapel, on March 8, 2022, with Reverend Antony Thomas IMS officiating. Interment was at the Colinton Cemetery.
