LUCIEN CASAVANT

May 15th, 1028 – September 25th, 2022

Lucien (Joseph Edouard Lucien) Casavant passed away peacefully at the Westlock Health Care Centre on September 25, 2022 at the age of 94.

Lucien was born on May 15, 1928 in Vimy, Alberta. Lucien farmed east of Colinton until his retirement in 2000. During the winter months, he also worked at a lumber mill, built compressor sites for Gas Comm and in later years, he operated the Boyle Seed Cleaning plant. He enjoyed spending time at the lake, gardening, bowling, floor curling, playing cards and time spent with family and friends.

Left to cherish his memory is his spouse Betty; his children: Helen (Marvin), Sharon (Don), and Marcel; grandchildren: Mathew (Andrea), Lana (Kenny), Tyler (Vicky) and Corey; great-grandchildren: Rhyan, Camryn, Reagan, Taylor, Emma, Jocelyn, Zaina, Nicholaus, Hanah, Jacob, Sarah, and Caine; siblings: Therese and Gerald (Sherry); sister-in-law Bernice; brother-in-law Stan; and numerous other family and friends.

Lucien is predeceased by his wife of 44 years, Yvonne; his son Paul; his parents Aime and Helene; siblings Madeline, Albert (Yvonne), Diana, Denise (Edmond), Aline (Don), Antoinette (Alois), and Francois; and his brother-in-law Joe.

A family service was held at the Athabasca Community Chapel on Friday, September 30, 2022. Interment was at the Athabasca Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.

The family would like to thank the many nurses and doctors at the Westlock Health Care Centre for their compassionate and excellent care provided during Lucien’s stay at the hospital.
