Eli Cholach

1945-2021

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts the family of Eli Cholach announce his passing on February 25, 2021, in his home, with family by his side; he was 75 years old.

He is lovingly remembered by his beloved wife Nellie Cholach (nee Fischer) of 57 years. His children: Brenda Krawec (Harold), Allan Cholach (Barb) and Eileen Hofmann (Lorne). His Grand-Children: Crystal Holdis (Darren), Milton Cholach (Ashtin), Candace Cholach, Kyeler Tymafichuk and Corissa Tymafichuk. His Great Grand-Children: Maizie Holdis, Lance Holdis and Kolby Cholach.

Eli’s life was marked by a quiet, never failing faith. He was always present for his family, friends and community. Eli loved his life as a farmer and felt peace in planting his crops and watching them grow. Autumn was one of his favourite seasons, as that meant harvest followed by hunting when time allowed. Our Dad was an amazing man, cherishing his family above all else. Nothing made him happier than to play country music with his Grand-Children, Great-Grandchildren and friends. Dad looked forward to opportunities he had to fish, travel and was never one to miss out on a good card game. Volunteering was an important part of his life as well, with countless hours dedicated to his church, Prosvita Hall, and visiting senior’s homes to play music assisted by his Grandchildren.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private family service was held, internment took place at the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Cemetery, Prosperity, Alberta.

We will sadly miss your guidance, humour and leadership Dad, but you will remain in our hearts forever. The love you shared with Mom and for your family will be something we always treasure. Now is time to Go rest high on that mountain, Son your work on earth is done.
