Dad worked hard his whole life and his endeavors included trucking,
farming, and running various businesses such as Co-Operators
Insurance, Dilly Diggers Trenching, and Home Hardware. He lived
most of his life in the Peace country but spent time also in Drumheller,
Valemount, BC, Slave Lake and for the last 10 years, Westlock.
After Dad retired, he restored many Farmall tractors, and all were
displayed on the Grimshaw acreage becoming a local landmark.
Dad enjoyed reading old Canadian history books, looking at old
photos while reminiscing, fiddle music, and he especially loved family
get-togethers where his booming laughter was prominent.
Thanks to Dr. DaCunha, nurses, aides, and other staff at Westlock
Hospital for their caring, comfort, and compassion they provided
for Dad and his family. Special thanks to his granddaughter Lyn
who spent over 12 hours every day this last month at Dad’s bedside
taking care of her Gramps.
A Celebration of Life service will take place at a later date. Check
