Evans, Donald

August 7, 1961 – January 12, 2023

After living with cancer for over 8 years, Donald Edward Evans, of Thorhild, Alberta passed away at the age of 61.
He is survived by his wife of fourty years, Beth and daughters: Chelsea (James Soltys), Keely (Angelo Gunanayagam) and Shannon (Alistair Barnes). A role he loved most of all was grandfather, he was so proud of his six grandchildren: Charlie, Henry, Patrick, Blakely, Reese and Remy.
Don was born in Duncan, BC and that’s where he developed his love for the water. He was an avid fisherman and when he couldn’t be out fishing in Alberta, BC or somewhere warm, he toiled over his ever evolving fish pond in his backyard. His 26 years of service with Flaman Group of Companies was more than just a job. He loved what he did and developed cherished friendships. He maintained relationships with his customers through his final days.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Thorhild Community Hall on Saturday, January 28 from 2 to 4. There will be a brief presentation at 3 pm, followed by an invitation to share memories and stories of Don. To keep the event a celebration we invite you to wear Don’s daily uniform of a denim or plaid shirt, a vest or both. If your outfit of choice has a Flaman logo that’s even better!
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at Westlock Healthcare Centre. Your care and support will always be remembered.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Alberta Cancer Foundation or Trout Unlimited Canada, would be greatly appreciated. Fish On, Don.
