Jacqueline Elaine Garrick was born in Pincher Creek, AB on October 11, 1942, the oldest daughter of David and Margaret Garrick. In 1946 the family moved to Bassano, AB where Jacquie spent her childhood and completed her high school education.

After graduating high school Jacquie attended Henderson Business College where she became proficient in typing and shorthand. After which she was employed as a secretary.

Jacquie married Rudy Muth and they had 2 children, son David, and daughter Susan. Rudy worked in the construction business and the family moved from job to job for a while until eventually winding up in Walkerton, ON. In 1978 Jacquie moved back to Alberta and settled in Fort McMurray where Jacquie worked at a few jobs, finally ending up as the night auditor in the Sawridge Hotel.

In 1984 Jacquie met Ken and they spent almost 40 years together. When Ken retired from Syncrude in 2002 they moved to an acreage near Colinton. There she enjoyed over 20 years of gardening, tending her flower beds and enjoying the wildlife that was always around the acreage.

Jacquie had a great love for sewing and kept herself busy making many of her own clothes. One of her greatest joys was sewing clothing and toys for her granddaughter Chelsey.

Jacquie always surrounded herself with pets. She always had at least 2 cats around, and after moving to the acreage that expanded to 4 or 5. Any stray cat in the neighbourhood knew there was always a free meal at Jacquie’s house. There was usually a dog or two in the house also.

She was predeceased by her parents David and Margaret Garrick and brothers in law Don and Barry Whitehouse and sister -in -law Carol Whitehouse.

Jacquie passed away peacefully with her family by her side in Lac La Biche hospital on January 9, 2024.
