Lillian Mary Giles
January 11, 1924 – July 10, 2023
It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our very Dear Auntie Lil (“Auntie Little”) as she was fondly called. She had been born in Eastgate, Alberta, to Lillian Nilychuk and Thomas Linko. She had the misfortune to lose her mother within the first three months of her life. It was then decided that her Father could not care for this baby girl, as he already had a large family. Nick Boychuck and Paraska Kruilk adopted Lillian and now she had parents that could love and care for her. Lillian acquired a brother Mike, also adopted by the Boychuk’s. Through the years, she managed to stay in touch with her natural siblings.
Lillian married Lloyd George Giles on February 9, 1944, and farmed with him until his passing on October 30, 1988. She was also predeceased by her adoptive parents, Nick and Paraska Boychuck, her natural parents, Lillian and Thomas Linko as well as her brother Mike and all her natural siblings.
At Lillian’s request there will be no funeral service. She will be laid to rest in the Moosehill Cemetery, Thorhild, Alberta, next to her beloved Lloyd.
