Josephine Katherine Guelly
January 22, 1943 – August 22, 2025
The family of Josephine Katherine Guelly is deeply saddened to announce her peaceful passing on August 22, 2025, at the age of 82 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 60 years, Elmer, her son, John (Shelly), and her cherished grandchildren, Matthew and Kristen (Jamin). She is also survived by her siblings: Bill (Joy) Baier, Rose Alexander, Rick (Gladys) Baier and sisters-in-law, Marion Andersen and Val Guelly, her brother-in-law, Victor Lauder, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Jo was predeceased by her parents, John and Alma Baier, her parents-in-law, John and Julie Guelly, as well as her sister, Judy Lauder, and brothers-in-law, Norman Guelly and Glen Andersen.
Born in Westlock, Alberta, and raised on the Baier family farm near Clyde, Jo carried with her the values of hard work and family throughout her life. After marrying Elmer, they settled on the Guelly family farm south of Westlock, where they raised their son and built a life.
Jo had many passions – she was a talented cross stitcher and dedicated crafter often spending hours creating beautiful pieces with love and care. She was also an avid gardener, an excellent baker, and she loved playing cards with both friends and family. Jo especially loved traveling, across Canada, the USA and to destinations abroad making lasting memories along the way. Her legacy includes more than 300 beautiful cross-stitch pieces, lovingly created and gifted to family and friends. These works of art will be treasured for generations.
Cremation has taken place at the Westlock Funeral Home and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
