Jeanveau, Roger Joseph

Jeanveau, Roger Joseph – We are sad to announce the passing of Roger on Monday, February 1, 2021. Roger was born on August 3, 1941 in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec.

He leaves to mourn, his wife Samantha of Stony Plain, his children Joanne (Roland) Thompson of Whitecourt, Krista (Walter) Emsley of Edmonton, Cindy (Dale) Hawthorne of Grande Prairie, and Craig (Darlene) Jeanveau of Fox Creek, grandsons Tom, Eric, Doug, Scott, Lucas, Marcus, granddaughters Lisa, Jodi, Dana, Jenna, and Annick, as well as 10 great grandchildren.

He is predeceased by his first wife Sarah in 2011, and daughter Kimberley in 2020.

Roger was a member of the Operating Engineers Union #955. He moved his young family to Alberta in 1967 to begin his career on pipeline construction, and never turned back. During summer break from school, Sarah packed up the kids to go camping wherever Roger was working across the prairies, then back home just in time to start the next school year. Roger enjoyed woodwork, hunting, fishing, and playing guitar.

Thank you to the wonderful staff at the Sturgeon Hospital for the patient care they provided to Roger in his last days. Roger has been cremated, and an interment will take place in the spring. In lieu of flowers, please make a tribute donation to the Food Bank in Barrhead or Whitecourt.
