John Pacholok of Athabasca, Alberta passed away peacefully at the age of 92. John's was a life well-lived, full of love and laughter with everyone he knew.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 68 years, Olga, and sons Dave (Sheena), Rob (Angela), Greg, Ken (Barbara). He was dearly loved by his grandchildren: Adam, Christopher, Jeffrey, Cora, Owen, Stephan, Tanya, Michaela, Nicolas, Joshua; and great-grandson Ryder. John is survived by his brothers Bill and Steve, and was predeceased by his baby daughter Elaine, and brothers Alex, Mike & Nick.

John was born in Bibrika, Ukraine. Two years later, John's family left to homestead near Athabasca where parents Ahafia and Mike raised 6 sons amongst the challenges of pioneer life.

John was a devoted family man, driven entrepreneur, and dedicated community supporter. With a strong work ethic, quick wit & adventurous spirit, he completed his mechanic and welding certificates. Hard work & determination led to building West End Motors, a successful auto & farm machinery dealership, followed by PAC Construction, a road & oilfield enterprise. John's busy life also revolved around family and community. Juggling family duties, he coached & sponsored sports teams, served with the Kinsmen, KofC, & fire dept, and donated time & equipment to better his community.

In later years, John was blessed to spend more time with family, travel & proudly attend the many cultural and sporting events of his grandchildren.

Prayer services will be held in Athabasca at 7:00 pm on Monday December 16 at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Church. A Divine Liturgy will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday December 17 in St Gabriel's Catholic Church followed by interment at the Athabasca Cemetery. For those who wish, Memorial contributions may be made to the Athabasca Auxiliary.
