Doreen Carol Leicht
October 31, 1938 – January 11, 2023
It is with sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of Doreen Carol Leicht (nee Wilkinson) on January 11, 2023, at the age of 84 years. Doreen passed peacefully at Extendicare Athabasca, having spent the last several months in their care.
Doreen is survived by her daughter Gail; her son Kevin (Deana); grandchildren: Kiera, Paxton and Sydney; her sister Donna (Ron); many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, as well as many good friends.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Herman; parents Dorothy and Edmund; her brothers Neil and Alan; and her sisters Joan and Joyce.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Extendicare Athabasca, who took such good care of Doreen in the last months of her life and showed her much kindness and love.
A Memorial Service will take place in the Spring of 2023, at which time Doreen and Herman will be interred together, as was their wish.
Donations can be made in Doreen’s name to the Athabasca Health Care Auxiliary Association or to the Resident’s Council of Extendicare Athabasca.
