David was named Gerald Hooper, the fifth child in a family of six. He was reunited with his birth family when he was 45 years old. His brother Norman passed away five months ago, brother Keith and sisters Lorna, Margaret and Vivian remain. David was adopted by Edna and Wes Lines in 1945.

He was predeceased by brothers Terry and Laurence Lines and sister Isadora Shank, as well as his nephew Larry Lines. David served as a Chaplain at the Don Jail – Toronto, The Ottawa Detention Centre, and the Remand Center Edmonton. He and Christobel served as Street Chaplains in the Pas, Manitoba for 3 years.

This was followed by 6 years of parish Ministry in Lac La Biche, until they retired in 2010 and moved back to Athabasca both were active at All Saints Anglican Church, especially at the soup kitchen (A.S.K) where David made most of the soup for the past 3 years.
