MANZ, LORRAINE (nee) FRANKSON

February 9, 1938 - October 9, 2020

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Lorraine Manz announces her sudden passing at the Barrhead Hospital on October 9, 2020, at the age of 82, surrounded by her loving family. Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, cousin, and friend was loved by all who knew her and will be missed beyond measure. Lorraine was born and raised in Barrhead. Lorraine married her high school sweetheart, Dave Manz in 1956 and together they raised 3 wonderful children. Once they were all in school, Lorraine began her 25 plus years in the banking world where she cultivated meaningful lifelong friendships. Lorraine lived for her family, making every holiday an extravaganza of amazing food, fun, and awesome presents! She loved her flowers, working tirelessly in her yard, and had many bird feeders enticing the birds she loved to watch from her kitchen window, the hummingbirds were her favorite. Lorraine kept the books for her and Dave’s logging company and for a time in the summer enjoyed playing golf, while in the winter curling kept her active and social, again making new friends along the way with her friendly, engaging personality. Lorraine and Dave were blessed to have a group of lifelong friends with whom they loved to play cards and go camping with, generally celebrating the good times as well as supporting each other in the bad. Lorraine loved being a grandmother to her wonderful 8 grandchildren putting her heart and soul into it and was grateful to have lived to enjoy her 6 beautiful great-grandchildren as well.

She is survived by her husband, of 63 years, Dave; daughter, Donna Zubot (Bryan); son, Ken Manz (Lois); grandchildren; Darren Manz (Abbi), Darrell Manz (Billie), Josh Loitz (Courtney), Gina Loitz (Barry), Evan Zubot, Shaun Yonkers (Heather), Noah Manz and Regan Manz (Skyler); 6 great-grandchildren; Arianna, Elsi, Ryan, Ronnie, Jack, and Oliver.

Lorraine is predeceased by her brother, Wayne Frankson (1977); father, Melvin Frankson (1978); mother Evelyn Frankson (2005) and 1st born son, Ron Manz
(2011). Should you wish to make a donation in Lorraine’s memory please send it to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
