MCCARTNEY, William Edward
May 10, 1960 – February 6, 2023
It was with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of William Edward McCartney of Westlock, on February 6, 2023, at the age of 62 years.
He will be remembered by his 3 children, Vil, Reba, and Kevin McCartney (Shawna), all of Saskatoon, SK, his mother Margaret Gingras, his sister Rhonda, and nieces Amy and Amanda, as well as WJS and numerous friends.
He was predeceased by his step father, Adoria Gingras, and his younger sister, Pamela McCartney.
Bill was born in Thunder Bay, ON but resided most of his life in Westlock, AB. When he was younger, Bill served as a cadet in the Legion and it was important to him to support the Legion as an adult. Bill loved to fish, camp, and be in the outdoors. He always loved to give a helping hand, in many business’ in Westlock and loved to call bingo at the local bingo halls. He could be feisty at times but was a very gentle and caring man for the most part.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 17, 2023 at the Westlock Cemetery, immediately following the inurnment, there will be a time of fellowship and refreshments at St. Philip’s Anglican Church Hall - 9843 – 105 Street, Westlock, AB.
