Raymond Theodore McLean

June 10, 1932 – September 3, 2021

It is with heavy and saddened hearts that our family announces the sudden passing of our beloved father, grandpa, and great grandpa, Ray McLean at the age of 89.

He will be deeply missed by his son Bruce (Joy), grandsons, Mike (Fon), Corey (Sarah), Dave (Lisa), Mark (Kaelynn) and granddaughter, Frances. Ray was blessed with seven great grandchildren; Kade, Hayden, Braxton, Mason, Lexie, Emerie, and Layne. He was predeceased by his wife, Carol, son, Brian, sister, Shirley, and his parents. Ray loved spending time with his family and many happy moments were spent at the cabin together. He was incredibly proud of all of his family and took great pleasure in simply watching the kids play and listening to conversations. He had a very special bond with his sons and was extremely proud of them.

Ray started his own automotive parts store in Barrhead in 1971, which is now a third generation company. He was fortunate enough to retire at 50 and travelled Canada and the States with the love of his life, Carol. In his later years he stayed close to home, maintaining his own house until his passing. He was very talented with his hands and created beautiful stained glass pieces, macramé chairs, and even built their first holiday trailer. He enjoyed his weekly meals at Bruce and Joy’s, and coffee with his buddies!

We will miss him greatly, but he will live on in our hearts forever! A private family service will be held at the Mosside Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Barrhead Public Library.
