The family of Florence Nippshank is saddened to announce her passing on October 4th, 2021 at the age of 89 years at the Athabasca Healthcare Centre.
Florence was born in Lahaiville Alberta and spent most of her life in the Athabasca area.
She is lovingly remembered by her children Glen, Dave, and Shannon as well as her siblings August, Arthur, Gordon, Lyle, Don, Patsy & Eileen. She also leaves to mourn her numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces & nephews, many of which were fortunate to live close and spend a great deal of time with their precious grandmother and Auntie.
Florence was predeceased by her parents Patrick & Dilna, her children Gail, Larry, Charles (Chuckie) and Linda as well her siblings Edward (Ned) and Rena.
Anyone who knew Florence will remember her for her kindness and her special way of always making everyone feel important and loved, she always asked how you were, and she never missed your birthday even if you hadn’t seen her in months. When you visited Florence, you were always offered tea, something to eat and great conversation. She had many wonderful lifelong friends that she adored and who adored her back. She loved spending time with her family and every holiday was spent with them.
She will forever live on in our hearts.
Service to take place on October 18th at 11:00 am at the St. Gabriel’s Roman Catholic Church in Athabasca with limited seating.
Florence’s family will be holding a Celebration of her Life when gathering restrictions are lifted.
