Anton Nykolyszyn

Anton (Tony) Nykolyszyn passed away peacefully at Extendicare in Athabasca, AB on January 30th, 2022 at the age of 97 years old.
Anton was born in Poland in 1924 before his family moved to Meanook, AB. He loved the farm life and with six siblings life was never boring. Being the oldest son, Tony always helped where it was needed. He was a very hardworking man who worked long hours at different sawmills and at the family farm before starting his own farm in Westlock, AB, the town where he would finish his career as a custodian. He was a caregiver for his father who passed away in 1993 in Westlock. Shortly after,he moved into town to live with his widowed sister, Mary. Anton had a kind soul and cared for his family very much. He will be dearly missed.
He is predeceased by his mother and father: Anna and Dmytro; sisters: Kay and Annie.
The family mourning his loss are his siblings: Nick (Edmonton), Mary (Athabasca), John (Chilliwack, BC), Donald (Edmonton); four nieces, one nephew, many great-nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Cremation has taken place and no funeral services will be held as per Anton’s wishes. Thank you to Dr.Schwab and staff at Extendicare for the care that they gave to Anton.
