Carl Parson

It is with great sadness that the family of Carl Parson announces his peaceful passing, in his home, surrounded by family, on October 14, 2023. Carl was born in 1931 to Eva and Eric Parson, a Swedish immigrant family that settled in the Boyle area in 1913. Born on their homestead, he spent his life in the Boyle area.

He is predeceased by his parents, 7 brothers and 5 sisters.

Carl is survived by his wife, Grace, daughter Judy (Rick), son Richard (Sarah), and his grandchildren Alicia, Neil, Rebecca, and Tessa.

He graduated from Grade 12 at Warren School in 1950, and again from NAIT in 1976, with a Plumbing and Gas Fitting Diploma. Over the years, he was engaged in various jobs including operating a farm until his very last year, safely transporting children to school for 35 years as a county bus driver, and running his own plumbing business for 25yrs. Carl had a wide variety of interests with a special love of nature, wildlife, and the birds within it. He was an avid horticulturist often developing extraordinarily productive gardens which were shared with family, neighbors, and friends within the community. Carl was one of those individuals who could successfully turn his hand to most projects, and always enjoyed taking on a new and different challenge. He lived a long and active life with good humor, and an ongoing quest for learning.

An afternoon of coffee and sharing of memories is planned for November 14, from 2-4 at the Boyle Drop-in Center. All are welcome.
