Donald Purdy

February 8, 1945 – May 29, 2022 

Donald Charles Purdy was born in Alberta Beach, Alberta to Donald and Mary Purdy. He was the fifth of ten children and raised on the family farm in Rich Valley.  Don led a life of public service devoting over 35 years to the Government of Alberta, also serving as a Councillor and Reeve in the County of Lac Ste. Anne.

He is survived by his wife Carol and daughters Kathy (David) Stepien, Connie (Greg) Kociuba, and Lindsay (Mike) Kreway as well as 5 grandchildren (Parker, Kennedy, Jacob, Jenna, and Sawyer) whom Papa loved with all his heart.  He is also survived by five brothers (Bill, George, Ellwood, Russ, Ross, Ray)  and one sister (Judy), numerous nieces, nephews and sisters and brothers-in-law. He also leaves behind his friends of over 60 years: David, Gary, Donald, Ray, and Amber. 

He was predeceased by his parents, brother Gordon (Carmen), sister Myrtle, and nephews Don, Jordon, and Tore. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Royal Canadian Legion – Alberta NWT Command.  

A Celebration of Life was held at the Rich Valley Hall on June 02, 2022 at 1:00 pm and internment to follow at the Rich Valley Cemetery.
