George Peter RAND

With loving remembrance and heavy hearts, the family of George Rand of Westlock, AB formerly of Busby, AB announces his passing on September 20, 2023 at the Westlock Healthcare Centre, Westlock, AB

George was born on January 12, 1941 in Picton, Prince Edward County, Ont. and grew up in Milford, Ont. He enjoyed hockey, fishing, hunting and golf. As a young adult he worked for Boeing Airlines in Ontario. In the late 1970’s George relocated to Alberta and became a pipefitter and a member of the UA Local #488.

After he retired from pipefitting, he bought a farm near Busby, AB with his wife Georgina and they enjoyed raising cattle, horses and farm life. Later after the livestock were gone, they enjoyed the winter months in Arizona playing golf.

George is survived by his loving wife Georgina; children: Marlene (Darryl), Brydon (Sandy), Shayne, Clayton, Michael (Andrea); daughter-in-law Lynn; grandchildren: Shaun, Dayna, Dillon, Robyne, Kyle, Kayli, Amanda (Ruger), Brooke, Brittney and Blake (Kelsey); great grandchildren: Finley, Trace, Rowyn, Patrick, and Kate; sister: Durelle; brother: Terry (Darlene), niece: Denise (Steve), nephews: Barry (Lori), Brad, Travis (Melissa), and Tyler; as well as other sisters-in-law, many other relatives and friends.

George was predeceased by his parents Ila and Harold; son Todd and brother-in-law Bishac.

George’s wish was to be cremated and no funeral service would be held. His family is honoring his request.
