NELLIE RYKS
October 21, 1945 - November 5, 2021
It is with profound sadness that we would like to announce the sudden passing of our loving and dear mother, grandmother and best friend at the age of 76 of congestive heart failure.
Our mother loved to garden, cook delicious meals, watch Christian programs, hockey and curling, read the Holy Bible, Christian books, and community history books, and visit with family and friends.
Our mother will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her son Ronald Ryks, daughter Donna (Glenn) Gummow, son-in-law David Schaffrick, grandchildren Lindy and Miles Schaffrick and Dalton, Kristin, and Abigale Gummow, brother in law Elmer (Pam) Ryks, sisters-in-law Terry, Sherry, and Sharlene Ryks as well as other family and good friends.
Our mother was predeceased by her husband Willie Ryks in 2009 and her daughter Karen Schaffrick in 2011 as well as her parents Adolf and Maria Judt, sister Anna, and brothers John, Adolf, Alexander, Ewald and William, brothers-in-law Harold, Walter, Werner, Leonard and John Ryks.
The family would like to thank Dr.Tawfikfor his thorough and thoughtful care and the nursing staff at the Barrhead Healthcare Centre for their compassionate care. Thank you also to all those family and friends that helped mom and showed her kindness and love throughout her life.
Rest in peace mom and it is our fond hope to see you again soon when Jesus comes to take His people to be with Him for all eternity.
Private Family Funeral Service will be held Monday, November 15, 2021.
