Margaret Sailer (nee Haberer)

July 29, 1935 – October 10, 2021

It is with great sadness that the children of Margaret Sailer announce her passing. Margaret passed away peacefully at the Breton Health Centre. She leaves to mourn her loss, her children, Laura (Lyle) Lawson, Melodie (Wayne) Sibley, Courtney (Charlene) Sailer, Shaun (Denise) Sailer; 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Margaret cherished visits with her family and treasured her friends stopping by to fill her in on their life events.

Margaret dedicated her efforts to making life better for those in her presence, ending her employment with the Blue Heron Society in Barrhead, where she was a Care Provider for Adults afflicted with Special Needs. Her flair for finishing touches lit up everything she touched, as first and foremost, she was an Artist. Her abilities led her to be a professional cake decorator, a multi-time winner of the Crazy Easter Hat Parade in Calgary, a ceramist who went on to become a teacher, a paint distributor, and a certified judge of ceramics. But most of all, her family will miss her wealth of knowledge. At a young age, Margaret was the victor of an essay competition, winning a trip to eastern Canada and the Governor General’s Award.

She will be decorating the golden streets of Heaven as she goes to be with her Savior.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Barrhead, however due to COVID restrictions, the service will be by invitation only.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Breton Long Term Care c/o the Drayton Valley Health Foundation, 4550 Madsen Ave., Drayton Valley, Alberta T7A 1N8.

Condolences may be sent to www.affinityfuneralservice.ca
