With heavy hearts, the family of Ingrid Schaefer announce her passing on January 13, 2024 in Athabasca AB with family by her side.
Ingrid was a loving Oma, Mother, sister and friend who found great joy in spending time with her small but mighty family, drinking a double, reading her romance novels and listening to classical music while looking at the moon. Her presence was such a bright and beautiful light for all who were around her. She had such a big smile and laugh! She never spoke an unkind word about anyone.
Ingrid will be lovingly remembered by her son Chris (Bonnie) and grandsons Joshua and Jesse. Ingrid is survived by her sister Erika in Germany and brother Klaus (Fran) in Gibsons BC, sister in law Renate (Karl Heinz) in Germany along with 2 nieces and 2 nephews and great nieces/nephews also in Germany. Ingrid was predeceased by her husband John in March of 2017.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in her name to be made to the Athabasca Health Centre, she worked there for many years and her work meant so very much to her.
