CORNELIUS WILLIAM SERBY (GORD)

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our Dad, Gord Serby on January 25th, 2023.
Gord was born December 6th, 1944 in Yorkton, SK. and was raised and later on worked on the family farm in Theodore, SK. In 1963 as a young man, Gord left the family farm for Alberta. Arriving in Alberta Gord found work doing odd jobs and a few years later he found the love of his life, Cindy. Soon they started their family. Gord’s work turned to the Oilfield and made a profession operating Hot Oilers and Pressure Trucks. Gord and his family spent their years in Drayton Valley, Devon, Swan Hills with a few last years in Rainbow Lake.
After his stay in Rainbow Lake, Gord decided enough long hours in the Patch it was time to retire. Gord moved to Barrhead, AB which he made his home until his passing.
Gord was survived by his children Calvin (Audrey), Charlene (Don), Carolyn (Rolly), Sheldon (Gwenn) and Kimberley (Craig), his grandson Ryan, extended family and friends.
Gord was predeceased by his parents, Laudie and Victoria; his wife, Cindy; his sister Janet and brother Leonard.
Gord’s wish was to not have a service and the family will be honoring his wish. If you would like to acknowledge Gord in any way, a memorial donation can be made to the Grizzly Trail Fire and Rescue Association Box 4172 Barrhead, Alberta T7N 1A2
The family remembers our Dad as a dedicated, hard working man whom loved his family. His meticulous, quirky ways will hold dear to our hearts forever. It brings us comfort and peace knowing that our Dad has been reunited with our Mom. We will placing Dad to rest with Mom in Wabamun, AB at a later date.
