PAMELA SHEWFELT
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Pamela Rae Shewfelt (nee Jones). Pamela courageously battled leukemia for over a year and passed away at the University Hospital on August 26, 2022, with her beloved husband Jay by her side.
Pamela was born in Lethbridge on May 5, 1982, and lived her childhood years in Athabasca. She attended Edwin Parr Composite School.
Pamela was predeceased by her maternal and paternal grandparents: Alcides and Janet Shank and Aaron and Laurine Jones; as well as her godfather Frank Schmid.
She is survived by her loving husband Jay, four daughters: Emma, Jada, Jenna and Ava; mom and dad: Roy and Glenda Jones; sister: Lisa (Ryan) Bodnarchuk and their 3 daughters. She also leaves her in-laws: John and Robyn Shewfelt; her sister-in-law Melissa (Tyler) Bentley and their children; godmother: Aunt Mary Schmid; as well as several cousins and lifelong friends.
Pamela was loved by those who knew her and will be sadly missed by her dear family and friends. A private family funeral was held on Wednesday August 31st, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Gabriels Roman Catholic Church in Athabasca with Father Paulson officiating. Pamela was laid to rest at Athabasca Cemetery and lunch followed.
