It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our

beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother,

George Slobodian of Westlock, Alberta (formerly of Jarvie,

Alberta) at the age of 100 years.

He was born on March 8, 1924 in Debeslawce, Poland.

George is survived by his son Bob (Fran) and his children, David

(Cherish), Rebecca; daughter Helen (Henry) Bombay and her

children Tina (Cory), Lisa, Daniel; daughter Ann (Ian) O’Shea and

her children, Tony (Tara), Trevor (Jamie), Justin (Eric); son Bill

(Shelley) and his children Carlene (Aaron), John (Lenka), Erich,

and Alex (Victoria); son Fred (Lori); son Marshall (Diana) and his

children Andrew, Sarah (Jesse), Serena (David); son Stewart

(Lynette) and great grandchildren: Bernadette and George;

Ethan, Rylan and Hudson; Aiden; Grayson and Declan; Elizabeth

and Evan; Liam and baby; Brinley; Mason and Alayna.

He is also survived by his sisters, Annie Simpson and Lena (Noel)

Elgert and his brothers Steve Rozak, Dan (Carol) Rozak and Jack

(Phyllis) Rozak and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 66 years, Donna,

his infant brother Peter, and sisters Mary Klein and Stella Kaliel.

George will be remembered for his kindness and his love for

his family and friends. He loved farming – he often said that it

was the best job that there was and he was glad that he had

farmed all his life. He, along with Donna, kept a large garden and

spent the fall harvesting and preserving. George will be fondly

remembered by family and friends; he always had a good story

to tell and was very happy when someone stopped to visit or

called him on the phone or FaceTimed with him on his iPad.

Funeral Service was held on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at

11 am at the Jarvie Community Centre in Jarvie, Alberta.
