WALDEMAR STEINBRING
April 19, 1926 – October 14, 2022
It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of Waldemar (Wally) Steinbring at the age of 96 years. He passed away peacefully in the Barrhead Hospital on October 14, 2022.
Wally leaves to mourn two daughters, Maureen (James) Tansowny, Patricia (Rod) Roeske and three sons, Terry (Elizabeth), Thomas (Kristina) and Donald, and his very good friend/partner Josephine Craig. He is survived by thirteen grandchildren – Steven (Shanda) Tansowny, Colin (Wendy) Tansowny, Evelyn Cartwright, Karen Tansowny (James Purvis), Scott (Jill) Tansowny, Charles Roeske (Caroline Bright), Teresa (Murray) Bladon, Matthew, Jerilyn Mukuri, Adam (Channing), Amber, Erik (Breanna) and Karleen, and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Wally is also survived by one brother, Benny (Faye), brother-in-law Leo (Jo) Goebel, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Wally was predeceased by his wife of fifty-one years, Irene, his grandson Terrence Waldemar “Little Wally” (17 years), his parents Wilhelm and Philippina Steinbring, his brothers Roy (Dorothy), Albert (Elsie), Emil (Fannie), Adolf (infant), his sister Clara (Victor) Jerke, his step-mother Hertha and step-family Bertha (Hank) Wells, Ruth (Jack) Janssen, Mary (Ted) Allarie, Heddy (Art) Heebner, Fred (Gudrun) Schoenrock, and sisters/brothers-in-law: Fred (Wanda) Goebel, Bill (Irene) Goebel, Elizabeth (Dave) Gitzel, Martha (John) Hennig, Frieda (Martin) Hennig, John (Edna) Goebel, Albert (Phyllis) Goebel, Emilie (Charles) Townsend, Henry Goebel, Emma (George) Ward, and Dave (Mona) Goebel.
The family would like to thank Dr. Visser and the staff at the Barrhead Hospital for their kind and compassionate care of Wally.
A celebration of life is being held on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Barrhead at 1:00 P.M. with a lunch to follow. Donations in memory of Wally Steinbring may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church (Barrhead), the Barrhead Museum, or the Canadian Cancer Society.
