Mary (Maria) Szostak
August 23, 1924 – December 5, 2021
On December 5, 2021 Mary (Maria) Szostak passed away peacefully at the age of 97, in Athabasca, Alberta.
She will be dearly missed by her children Dennis (Irene), Naddie (Ralph) and Andrew (Sherry); grandchildren Michael (Becky), Ryan, Steven (Kristine) and Tina (Andy); and great-grandchildren Caprice, Thomas and Katelyn.
Mary was predeceased by her husband Joseph and daughter Jennie.
Mary loved to garden and feed the neighborhood cats and birds. Family was her world, she treasured every moment that her loved ones spent at her home. She always made sure they had a parking spot directly in front of the house. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Theresa Ells for all the time she spent with our mother.
We would also like to thank the staff at the Athabasca Auxiliary Care Facility for their compassionate care. Donations can be made in Mary’s name to the Athabasca Health-Care Auxiliary Association or to the charity of one’s choice.
A funeral service for Mary took place on Friday, December 17, 2021 at 10:00 am at Evergreen Funeral Home & Cemetery.
