April 28, 1935 - September 26, 2024
It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of
Nancy Caldwell Thomas (nee Beattie) on September 26,
2024, in Westlock, Alberta, at the age of 89.
Nancy was born on April 28,1935,in Shamrock,Saskatchewan,
and spent her early years growing up in Rolling Hills, Alberta.
Nancy lived and worked as a dental assistant in Edmonton
before moving to Flatbush to raise her family and farm with
her husband Gordon, who predeceased her in 2019. As a farm
wife, Nancy operated all the equipment on the farm and later
settled into a career of driving school bus. Together with her
husband Gordon, they owned and ran H&R Block in Westlock
for 16 years. She loved sports, camping and spending time
with family. After she retired, she enjoyed swimming and floor
curling. and was part of the Alberta Seniors Games for many
years. She was very active in the Seniors’ community as well.
Nancy leaves behind her sons, Gordon (Monica) and George
(Kathy) and 3 grandchildren, Aashiyana, Diesel, and Peyton,
who all brought immense joy and pride into her life. She will
also be missed by her close friend Gerry, extended family
and friends.
Nancy grew up in a large family with 9 siblings (herself
included), she was the second youngest of the nine. She
was predeceased by her brothers and sisters – John, Albert,
Mary, Marjorie, Harold, and Iris. She is survived by her sisters
Muriel and Lillian.
Nancy will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and
determination. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those
who knew her, and she will be dearly missed. There will be no
funeral service for Nancy.
