June 5, 1965 - March 10, 2024
Timothy Vanderwekken, 58, of Barrhead, and his beloved wife
Sarah, went to their Heavenly home together on March 10, 2024.
Tim was born in Lacombe in 1965 to John and Ann
Vanderwekken. Tim moved to Barrhead with his first wife Emily,
and children Luke and Adam in 2000, and established Reliance
Automotive. Tim’s youngest son Nathan was born shortly after,
in 2002. Tim was heavily involved in the church community, and
organized a youth ministry for many years. Tim’s priority was his
beloved family, while also running Reliance Automotive and making
time for his knife-making passion. In 2021, Tim married Sarah
Pillay and they shared the last years of their lives in happiness.
Tim was predeceased by his parents John and Ann, his older sister
Edith, his nephew Matthew, and his great-nephew Seth.
He is survived by his children Luke, Adam (Kerry), and Nathan
(Madi), his bonus children Christine (Brent), and Adrian; his
siblings Ann (Charles) Claus, Marilyn (Henry) Vandermeer, Betty
(John) Deschiffart, and Ken (Marlene) Vanderwekken; as well as
numerous nieces, nephews, and their children.
A joint Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00pm on March 23,
at Barrhead Alliance Church. In lieu of flowers, donations to
Compassion Canada would be greatly appreciated.
