TISCHER, Herbert “Herb”
December 10, 1939 - September 13, 2022
It is with much love and a lifetime of memories that the family of Herb Tischer, of Barrhead, Alberta announces his sudden passing on September 13, 2022, at the age of 82. Herb was born on the family homestead of Richard Sr. & Ella Tischer in the Gardenview area on December 10, 1939.
He began his working career in the rigs, and then moved to Edmonton to work at Swift Canadian Packers where he met the love of his life, Helen (Marinoski) Tischer. His heart was always on the farm and in 1973 they purchased a farm in the Glenreagh community, where he continued to farm until his passing.
He will be remembered by his loving wife of 59 years, Helen; children, Carolin (Vern) Blum, Darryl (Rhonda) Tischer, Denise (Wesley) Stoik; grandchildren; Lance (Jaylene) Blum, Neil (Stephanie) Blum, Kristin (Sherry) Blum, Landen (Cheyenne) Tischer, Jessica (Clayton) Lockhart, Devan Tischer, Stanley Tischer, Jared (Ruby) Stoik, Dylan Stoik, Kyle Stoik, Courtney Stoik and eight great-grandchildren. Herb will also be missed by one sister Irma Teske, and his brothers Richard (Evelyn) Tischer, Harry (Alma) Tischer alongside numerous friends and family.
He was predeceased by his parents, Richard Sr. and Ella Tischer; brother Eric (Barb) Tischer; and brother-in-law, Richard Teske.
Herb lived his life serving His Lord and Savior. A celebration of his life will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday September 24, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Bethel Pentecostal Church in Barrhead, Alberta, with interment to follow at Bloomsbury Cemetery.
