Robin “Rob” Travis
1947 – 2021
With deep sadness, we announce the sudden & unexpected death of Robin Travis on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at home on his farm near Rich Valley, Alberta; formerly of Barrie, Ontario.
Robin is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Linda Travis (nee Atkinson); loving father to his children, Jason (Christy) Travis & Sarah (Jason) Lyon; loving & devoted grandpa to Logan & Bailey Travis and Avery & Kaitley Lyon. Rob leaves to mourn his sister, June Leschied of Cambridge, NS; father in law, Eldon Atkinson of Barrie ON; brother in law, Don (Birgit) Atkinson of Oro-Medonte, ON; sister in law, Mary Butler (Paul Kane) of Dublin Ireland.
Rob is predeceased by his father, Ellis Clifford Travis; mother, Doris Myrtle (nee Greenough) Travis; mother in law, Shirley Atkinson (nee Rix); Rob will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Rob was a retired truck driver with Canadian Freightways (1966 – 1977 & 1992 – 2002) & Overland Express (1977 – 1992). Rob started his own business as a driver service; all his work was performed with Overland Express in Midland (2002 – 2007) delivering freight in Midland, Muskoka, Bradford, Barrie & other areas. Public Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM to
10:30 AM on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at Rose Garden Chapel, Barrhead, AB. Tribute Video will follow at
10:45 AM, and Celebration of Rob’s Life will be at
11:00 AM Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at Rose Garden Chapel, Barrhead, AB with Pastor Trevor Crowe officiating. Interment will follow at Rich Valley Cemetery.
