Myrtle Alma Katherine Jane Wegner (Purdy) of Sherwood
Park, formerly of Barrhead. It is with deep sadness we
announce the unexpected death of Myrtle on March 30,
2021, as Albert, her beloved husband of 58 years, was
holding her hand.
Myrtle will be cherished as the ever-caring and helpful Mom
to her children, Susan (Ramon), David, Sherry (John) and
Shelley (Zan). Oma’s cinnamon buns will be longingly
remembered by her grandchildren, Maranda “Randi Girl”,
Dexter, Nash (Emily), AJay, Faith, Katrina and Nevan.
Chickie will be missed by her brothers and only sister: Bill
(Diane), George, Don (Carolee), Ellwood (Florence), Judy,
Russ (Karen), Ross (Marsha), and Ray (Joyce). Her many
nieces and nephews will remember Auntie Myrtle for her
wisdom and advice. Myrtle is predeceased by her parents
Don and Mary Purdy, brother Gordon and his wife Carmen,
brother-in-law Ray, and nephews Don, Jordon and Tore.
Myrtle and the family would like to thank Dr King and her
staff at The Cross Cancer Clinic for the many years of care
and also Dr Laura at the Grey Nuns Hospital Emergency
Unit. Donation may be made to St John’s Lutheran Church,
Barrhead, Memorial Fund.
A Private Family Service will be held on Monday April 12,
2021 at 1:30 pm from Rose Garden Chapel, Barrhead.
