Kathleen Rosemary “Woody” Wiederick, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at the age of 93 years. She was born June 30, 1931, in Westlock, AB, and was a longtime resident of Wetaskiwin, AB.

Rosemary graduated from the Archer Memorial School of Nursing in Lamont, AB, in 1953. She worked at the Wetaskiwin Hospital for most of her career. She recounted early nursing days treating polio patients in Vancouver, as well as upgrading her skills to care for critically ill patients prior to their transfer to Edmonton, AB. Rosemary retired in 1991.

She is survived by daughters, Sandra Young (Colin) and Cathy Wiederick (Douglas Scott); and her grandchildren, Abbey and MacIntyre Young, Matthew and Emma Scott, and Tylor Fox. She was predeceased by her daughter Joan Wiederick, her stepdaughter Leslie Fox, and her step-granddaughter Kristina Fox.

Rosemary loved gardening in her “back 40,” a nod to her farming roots. She is being remembered for her devotion to family, tireless work ethic, and selfless care for others, and, especially, for her daughter Joan during her long illness. A lifelong learner, Rosemary was an avid reader and documentary viewer who instilled the value of education in her daughters.

Rosemary will be dearly missed. The family thanks everyone for their love and support during this time.
