Worobec, Mary

The family of the late Mary Worobec would like to take this opportunity to give our heartfelt thanks for the outpouring of support during the loss of our Mom, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. Your words of sympathy, condolences and prayers during this difficult time via cards, phone, texts and emails were greatly appreciated. It’s overwhelming to know we have such great family and friends. The people who sent floral arrangements to our houses, and the delicious meals we received during our time, helped while making funeral arrangements.

During this time of Covid we were limited to funeral attendance. It was not the funeral our Mom and we as a family had ever thought of attending. For those who joined us during the live streaming “Thank You” for being there with us - for us.

Mom was raised with her faith, married and buried in the same church. She joins her husband and parents, along with other family, in the church cemetary. Mom lived a long life and at 94 years of age was one of the few pioneers left in the Cherhill area. She and her family came from Ukraine and made Canada their home. Mom raised a family, worked hard on the farm and enjoyed watching her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow and succeed in life.

She loved her cattle, garden, flowers, apple trees and later, Saskatoons with one of her favorite garden flowers being lilies. Mom enjoyed watching hockey, baseball and football. After leaving the farm in 2014 she resided at Chateau Lac Ste. Anne before moving to Shepherd’s Care, Barrhead, in September 2017. God saw her getting tired and weak so he welcomed her home.

The family would like to thank the staff at the two facilities for Mom’s compassionate care: to Doctor Tawfik, Doctor Visser and the Barrhead Healthcare Staff - your support to us as a family during Mom’s final days was greatly appreciated.

Thank you: to Reverend Slavko Dumec and Andrea Leader for the beautiful funeral service; to Kristy Hammond of Park Memorial for doing an awesome job of live streaming; to Gary, Shaelea and Fran, the staff of Park Memorial, for making our loss easier; to those who made donations to the Greek Catholic Church and Cemetery or charity of your choice. Sincere Thank You to all for your generosity.

Take care, stay safe and God Bless.

Worobec and Lovich Families.
