TORONTO — A man has been charged in a string of alleged hate-motivated assaults on women at Toronto's Union Station.

Police say they received multiple reports of assaults shortly before 9 a.m. Monday.

They say a man was walking through the station and assaulted several women unprovoked.

Police say that after his arrest, the man made "anti-women comments," and the incident is being treated as a suspected hate-motivated offence.

The suspect, a 23-year-old man of no fixed address, has been charged with 10 counts of assault.

He was expected to make his first appearance in court Monday.
