Dear Editor,
As we begin our 2011/2012 season, it comes with mixed emotions. We have had many seasons of fantastic performances from such renowned artists such as Fred Eaglesmith, Lorne Elliott, Johner Bros. and Buddy Whases. But often these performers played to empty theatres. This is disheartening for us and for the performer. This year Alberta Grants have changed and where we were granted funds to help offset the cost of these wonderful acts in the past will be greatly reduced.
In order to keep Barrhead Arts Council in our community we need to get our community in the BAC. We need full theatres to pay our expenses. Please help us fill our seats. Tell your friends, your neighbours, tell anyone that will listen. If we are unable to fill our seats this will be our final season. A season’s pass is $50 for four shows (compared to $20 per performance) and can be purchased at Comfort Corner and Right Angle.
