Dear Editor,
I write this letter to you with much enthusiasm and appreciation of support for an incredible cause. On March 28, tb!s The Bargain Shop launched its fifth-annual Paper Egg Campaign with Easter Seals Canada. This campaign has always meant so much across our organization as the proceeds raised are dedicated to improving the quality of life for kids with disabilities and their families across Canada. Nationally in this year’s campaign we raised $152,805 and in total over the last five years we have donated $810,804 to support crucial programs such as summer camp and the equipment necessary to create independent living opportunities for youth. We would like to especially extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of our store customers at tb!s The Bargain Shop in all the communities in which we serve, who, for the fifth year in a row, participated and gave so generously, and created so many opportunities for Easter Seals kids that wouldn’t otherwise exist. As a result of all our collective efforts, we will be sending more kids to camp this year to enjoy personal growth and challenges, make new friends and partake in the fun and laughter that this experience has offered to thousand of kids over the years. Marianna Figueiredo, the 12-year-old 2011 Provincial Ambassador for Easter seals Ontario sums it up best when she asks us all to, “see beyond the disability, show the world we can do anything.”
It is a privilege to take part in such a rewarding campaign with such visible results. We look forward to another successful and ground-breaking campaign in 2012.
Best regards,
Kathy Owen, Store Manager
