Sugar?
One spoon or two?
I was invited to a charming Strawberry Tea on the afternoon of June 7 as part of Senior’s Week. It was hosted by the Barrhead Public Library and 17 ladies attended from Hillcrest and Mrs. Wood’s Grade 3 class. Shelley Oswald and two helpers accompanied the ladies.
The event was made special by everyone sporting fancy hats and dress. Tea was served in porcelain teacups with iced cupcakes, Rice Crispy squares and strawberries. Friends of the Library members Mrs. Ella Stoik and Mrs. Phyllis Krieger poured from a silver tea set.
It was delightful.
The students at my table were interesting and great conversationalists. The tea was delicious. Everyone enjoyed themselves immensely.
Hats off to our librarian, Elaine Dickie, and her staff. We are fortunate to have such a great library, and I would encourage others to support its programs. It was a wonderful community event. Thank you so much.
