What are the public hearings about?

The Town of Westlock is proposing two changes to Lot R, Block 6,

Plan 4035 NY (102 Street Park Lot):

1. An amendment to the Town of Westlock’s Land Use Bylaw

(Bylaw 2024-03) to change the zoning of the property from PR

(Parks and Recreation) District to R3 (High Density Residential)

District; and

2. The removal of the Municipal Reserve (MR) designation from

the property (ie. MR Disposal) to allow for disposal by sale.

A separate public hearing will be undertaken for each change.

What does this mean?

This rezoning and MR disposal will allow for the property to be sold

and redeveloped for medium to high density residential uses such as

townhomes or an apartment building. A comparison of the listed uses

for the current and proposed districts is available for your review.

How can I get more information?

Any member of the public may review the proposed rezoning bylaw

and ask questions about either change. Information is available

within the Events Calendar on the Town’s website at www.westlock.

ca/p/community-events or can be provided to you upon request.

You can also make an appointment to come into the Town Office

where Planning & Development staff can explain what is proposed,

how it might impact you, and how the public hearing process works.

Can I provide comments?

If you wish to make a submission for Council’s consideration at the

public hearings, written submissions can be emailed to planning@

westlock.ca, mailed in, or dropped off in the drop box at the Town

Office on or before March 11. Please indicate in your submission

which public hearing you wish to comment on.

Can I attend the hearings?

TAKE NOTICE THAT in accordance with the Municipal Government Act, as amended, Council of the Town ofWestlock have established a Public Hearing date to rezone Lot R, Block 6, Plan 4035 NY from P-R (Parks and Recreation) District to R3 (High Density Residential) District.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN THAT pursuant to the authority of the Town ofWestlock Council as provided in Section 674 of the Municipal Government Act, R.S.A. 2000, Chapter M-26, as amended, to the intention of Council to remove the Municipal Reserve designation from the

property legally described as Lot R, Block 6, Plan 4035 NY.
