RV City, an exclusive Jayco dealer and an Alberta Motor Vehicle Industry Council (AMVIC) affiliated dealer, sells new and used RVs, services all makes and models, and sells RV parts and camping equipment. The company has provided Edmonton and area with “Generations of Family Fun” for over 50 years.

Ross Hodgins, CEO, says, “RV City and Jayco’s tagline “Generations of Family Fun'' embodies all aspects of our business. We are proud to assist our clients and their families with enjoying the RV lifestyle. Our small family business (G.B. Business Enterprises Ltd.) has grown with the support of our many clients and the dedication of our team members – for these efforts we are sincerely grateful.”

It all began in 1968 with founders Garry and Sonia, and Brent and Ellen Hodgins and their gas station businesses, Pacific 66 Gas in St. Albert and an Esso in Edmonton. From there it was just a few short years before they would branch out and open St. Albert Tire and Auto, and Trailer Town. This forerunner to the current business sold and serviced RVs. In 1979 they expanded the business, in part through the acquisition of a Honda franchise. In the early 1980s the entrepreneurs bought land and a facility in Morinville to keep growing the brand. In 1989 Trailer Town was renamed as RV City and in 2008, they became an exclusive Jayco Dealer.

As of 2001, RV City has been owned and operated by Jean and Ross Hodgins, the second generation owners of the family business.

“The culture at RV City is one of the key reasons for our success,” says Ross. “Our approach is straightforward, rooted in respect; respect for the customer, respect for fellow team members, and respect for yourself.”

In addition to sales of new RVs, RV City accepts trades and sells used units. Ross explains, “RV City is happy to work with all types of products clients would consider trading in, from RVs to vehicles and other recreational equipment. RV City actively purchases used RVs.”

The RV City team do more than help you buy a great new or used trailer. They also guide you to joining and enjoying the RV lifestyle by pointing you to clubs and forums like the Jayco RV Club, Alberta Happy Campers, Jayco Journal, and RV City’s blogs and how-to videos.

“RV City’s Welcome to your new RV! booklet is a wealth of information,” Ross adds.

Anyone thinking about hitting the road this summer, but has yet to buy an RV, would do well to hustle on down to RV City. With COVID-19 impacting how and where Albertans can travel, the demand of RVs this year is extremely high.

Those that go to RV City are assured for award winning service, as the company is the proud inaugural Canadian recipient of the Jayco Founders Award, the highest honour a Jayco dealer can receive. RV City has also been awarded Alberta RV Dealer of the Year.

On behalf of their team, Jean and Ross thank Jayco, their clients, and the community for helping them enable “Generations of Family Fun.” They thank their team for making the customers their number one priority.

RV City looks forward to expanding operations at its Nisku facility and renovating the Morinville location to add more capacity. Learn more about RV City online, or on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and Twitter.
