The scene May 4 of the wildland fire in the area of Range Road 252 and Township Road 640 near Bolloque Lake. As of 3 p.m., May 6, the fire is being contained.

WESTLOCK -  As of 3 p.m., May 6, the wildland fire in the area of Range Road 252 and Township Road 640, on the east side of Bolloque Lake in the northern end of Westlock County, is being contained by provincial crews, while Westlock County Fire Services remain on standby to provide mutual-aid assistance.

According to the most-recent update, AESRD ground crews and helicopters are on scene and dozers were successful in re-enforcing the cabin in the left flank and the retardant line on the right flank over the night and throughout the day. Anyone not required to be in the area are asked to stay away as emergency crews continue to work.

Residents are advised to remain alert and be prepared to evacuate if required. If you see a wildfire in a forested area, report it immediately by calling 310-3473.
