WESTLOCK — The race is on.
The Town of Westlock will officially have a byelection campaign when nominations close tomorrow Dec. 13 at 12 p.m.
Late Tuesday afternoon several new candidates for Westlock council were posted to the town’s website including new mayoral candidates Benita Pedersen and Robin Brett, along with new council candidate David Truckey.
The mayoral candidates will face off against Jon Kramer, who recently vacated his seat on council to run for mayor.
Derrill Rayner is also running for a council seat.
Westlock residents will choose a new mayor and one new councillor in a byelection set for Jan. 10. 2024.
