Westlock County’s enforcement services were joined by a Westlock RCMP officer at the Sobeys on Friday afternoon, Nov. 24, for the first-ever “Cram-A-Cruiser" event. Local residents could bring down donations for the Westlock Food Bank and FCSS’ Christmas Spirit programs, which would be stuffed in the back of this county vehicle. From left to right are Sgt. WESTLOCK — Westlock County's enforcement services collected just over 396 lbs of food, as well as some toy and cash donations, during their first "Cram-A-Cruiser" event on Nov. 24.

As noted in a release from Westlock County, Cram-A-Cruiser is an event held in many municipalities to help support their communities. Municipal enforcement services often team up with local law enforcement, such as the RCMP, to give back to the communities they serve.

Westlock County's peace officers, along with support from county council, teamed up with the Westlock RCMP and the Town of Westlock's enforcement services for the Nov. 24 event. They were on site from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov. 24 collecting donations.

Besides the food alluded to above, the event also brought in $615 for Westlock and District Family and Community Support Services (FCSS), which will support the organization's Christmas spirit programming, and another $430 for the Westlock Food Bank.
