Westlock County Div. 5 voters will have a chance to meet all four candidates running in the Sept. 17 byelection at an all-candidates forum set for Sept. 5 at Pine Valley Hall in Tawatinaw.
Candidates Mary Ashton-Groulx, Lori Latreille, Isaac Skuban and David Woynorowski organized the forum to provide voters with an opportunity to engage and direct any questions they may have right to them. It will also give the candidates a chance to share their thoughts, ideas and strategies with those they hope to represent.
The forum will run from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. and will include a moderated question and answer session followed by a meet and greet where residents will be afforded some face time to discuss their issues, concerns and ideas for moving forward.
Ken Jersch, a well-know member of Toastmasters who also moderated the provincial election candidates forum in April, has been tapped to moderate the question and answer period and panel discussion. The candidates have also invited the rest of county council to attend.
All voters in Div. 5, which saw elected councillor Darrell Osmond step away from the Westlock County council table in June, are invited to take part, but the host candidates also encourage any county resident to drop by to observe or ask questions of their own as they relate to county business.
Pine Valley Hall is located at 4801 50 Ave. in Tawatinaw. Instead of turning left towards the ski hill at the four-way, head straight and the hall will be on your right.
