Pickardville’s Louise Page is a big winner in the Full House Lottery.
Page’s ticket was drawn on June 20 for the second grand prize — a brand new 4,006-sq. ft. bungalow in Edmonton, a 2013 BMW 128i and $25,000 in cash. The total value of her prize is more than $1.5 million.
“It really is very nice,” she said. “I never thought I would win.”
Page’s phone was not working on the draw date, so she wasn’t able to find out right away that she had won. It wasn’t until June 21 that she was informed she was a winner.
She doesn’t want to get her hopes too far up, she said, and is waiting until she receives a letter from the lottery organizers to verify that she indeed won.
The home Page won has a value of $1.1 million, and the lot it stands on is valued at $343,000. The BMW is worth $41,000.
The Full House Lottery was put on by the Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation and the University Hospital Foundation. The lottery sold out all 163,250 tickets available, and managed to raise more than $1.9 million for both foundations.
Proceeds will go towards bringing robotic surgery technology to the Lois Hole Hospital for Women, and expanding the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit at the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute.
