WESTLOCK — The annual Mayor’s Breakfast is returning after a three-year hiatus.

The Town of Westlock and Westlock and District Chamber of Commerce are teaming up together to host the annual event on Tuesday, Oct. 24 from 7 to 9 a.m. at the Westlock Memorial Hall. The event will feature a full hot breakfast, keynote speakers, an address by Town of Westlock Mayor Ralph Leriger and a presentation by Westlock and District Chamber of Commerce president Graeme Harrington.

“The Mayor’s Breakfast has been done a handful of times … 2019 was the last time we did one but we’re going to bring it back,” said Harrington at the monthly chamber meeting Sept. 19. “We have a number of keynote speakers and there’ll be a chamber presentation.”

The last time the event was held, the chamber was a fairly new organization noted Harrington, who added they will be providing attendees with a current update about the chamber, while also looking back at their beginnings and progress to where they are today.

“We’ve got some really good speakers lined up. Mayor Ralph Leriger will give an address and an update. Planning and development manager Danielle Pougher is going to give an update as well and speak on the commercial tax incentive,” he said.

An economic development representative from the province, Carol Webster from Business Link, is the third keynote speaker and will be sharing about programs available to local businesses.

In addition to the breakfast and presentations, there will be door prizes and, in keeping with the Small Business Week theme that’s wrapping up Oct. 21, opportunities for networking and learning more about Westlock’s business community.

“We’re really excited to do this again. We had 180 in attendance for the last one and we’d like to have at least that again,” said Harrington. “It’s a really good partnership with the town that we work on to host this event.”

Tickets for the Mayor’s Breakfast are $30 per person and include breakfast, door prize draws and presentations and can be purchased via Eventbrite at  https://tinyurl.com/Westlockchamber or by contacting Vivian Zittlaw with the Town of Westlock via email [email protected] or calling 780-350-2109.
