Pembina Hills schoolbus involved in minor accident

No students on board at time of collision, division reports

A schoolbus belonging to the Pembina Hills School Division was involved in an accident with another vehicle shortly before 7 a.m. this morning north of Flatbush. No injuries were reported.

WESTLOCK — The Pembina Hills School Division posted a notice to its website today, Feb. 1, indicating that one of its school buses was involved in a collision with another vehicle shortly before 7 a.m. nearly an hour north of Westlock.

The notice states that Pembina Hills School Bus #101 was involved in the accident, which occurred on Highway 44 as the bus was turning west onto a township road north of the hamlet of Flatbush, which is a 45-minute drive north of Westlock.

No students were on the bus at the time of the accident and no injuries were reported from the drivers of both vehicles. "We are thankful for the quick response of emergency services," the notice states.

Westlock RCMP Staff Sgt. Jeff Sehn said they were investigating provincial offences (ie. tickets) as opposed to criminal charges.
