WESTLOCK – Police continue to investigate whether any charges will be laid after a logging truck downed a pair of traffic lights on Highway 44 late Monday night.

Westlock RCMP Staff Sgt. Al Baird said they got the call at 9:50 p.m., July 4, that the traffic light standard on the northwest corner of highways 44 and 18 and one at the corner of Highway 44 and 107th Street had been felled.

Baird said July 6 that they’ve since talked to the driver of the logging truck that was involved and continue their investigation.

“We know who it is and we’ve talked to them. It’s just a matter of us reviewing it to see if there any evidence for charges or any violations for the load, or not,” said Baird.
