RCMP arrest five in connection with break-and-enter, theft of two trucks

Two individuals also facing drug charges, while a third is charged with assault on a peace officer

WESTLOCK — Five individuals have been arrested and are facing numerous charges following the investigation of a break-and-enter at a local business where two pick-up trucks were stolen. 

An RCMP release states that Westlock RCMP were notified of the break-and-enter at 9:15 a.m. on Oct. 3. 

The release further states that one of the stolen pick-up trucks had tracking services, which were utilized to determine its location. 

Using that information, the Westlock RCMP — along with the assistance of Parkland RCMP, Morinville RCMP, Barrhead RCMP and Westlock Traffic Services — located both vehicles and arrested the occupants. 

As noted in the release, a search of both vehicles resulted in the seizure of 22.05 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 6.78 grams of suspected heroin and five millilitres (mL) of suspected fentanyl. 

All of the suspects were taken before a justice of the peace. Their cases were adjourned to Oct. 4 in the Alberta Court of Justice in Edmonton. According to the RCMP, they are still in custody. 

Ryan Calvin Grant, 40; Wallace Arthur Millar, 40; Charlotte Gileen Mills, 38; and Rodney Wendell Prince, 56 are all facing charges of mischief over $5,000, possession of break-in tools and possession of stolen property. 

Grant is a resident of Busby, while the other three reside in Barrhead. 

In addition, Prince and Mills are charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine, possession for the purpose of trafficking heroin and possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl. 

Trina Mae Paul, 31, also faces charges of mischief over $5,000, possession of break-in tools, possession of stolen property, flight from a peace officer, assault on a peace officer, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and failure to comply.
